What is an STL file?
STL (Standard Tessellation Language) is the most common 3D printing file format. It describes the surface of a 3D object using a mesh of triangles. It’s the blueprint your printer reads to build your design layer by layer.
How does it work?
Your 3D design software, like Fusion 360, Blender or Tinkercad, exports your model as an STL file. Our slicing software then converts it into print instructions: layer thickness, speed, supports and more.
Where do I make one?
You can create STL files with free tools like Tinkercad (beginner-friendly), Blender (advanced) or Fusion 360 (professional). You can also download ready-made STL files from sites like Thingiverse or MyMiniFactory.
