STEP 3

Know Your File

What is an STL File?

What is STL ?

STL (Standard Tessellation Language) is the most common 3D printing file format. It describes the surface geometry of a 3D object using a mesh of triangles — basically the blueprint your printer reads to build your design layer by layer.

How Does It Work?

Your 3D design software (like Fusion 360, Blender, Tinkercad) exports your model as an STL file. Our slicing software then converts it into print instructions — layer thickness, speed, supports, and more.

Where Do I Make One?

You can create STL files using free tools like Tinkercad (beginner-friendly), Blender (advanced), or Fusion 360 (professional). You can also download ready-made STL files from sites like Thingiverse or MyMiniFactory.

We Also Accept OBJ & 3MF

Don't have an STL? No problem. We also accept OBJ, 3MF, and STEP files. Not sure what format you have — just upload it and we'll sort it out.

Don't Have A Design

Hire A Designer

No 3D file? No software skills? No problem. Our in-house designers can turn your idea  whether it’s a sketch, a photo, a reference image, or just a description  into a print-ready 3D file.

This is a separate service we offer specifically for customers who need a design created from scratch before printing.

Share a rough sketch or reference — we'll model it into a precise, print-ready STL file.

We work with you until the design is exactly right before we print a single layer.

Most design projects are completed within 2–5 business days depending on complexity.

Hire a designer and print in one go — we'll handle everything end-to-end for you.
